Irondog's Cottonwood Kennels was designed and built by Tom Schenek who is both the owner and operator. Tom is a Tucson Native who as a boy, first became introduced to dog training through 4-H. He attended several schools in the Tucson area and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps upon graduation. During his four year enlistment he served in the Infantry and participated in Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Sharp Edge. Upon completion of his service, he returned home and became a Police Officer. Since his career in Law Enforcement began he has served as a Patrol Officer, Motorcycle Officer, K-9 Handler and SWAT Operator. Tom retired as a Patrol Sergeant from a police department in the Tucson Metro Area August 31st, 2016. He took office in January of 2017 after being elected as Pima County Constable for Justice Precinct #07 and reelected to a second term, which began in January of 2021.
Tom is married to his wife Donna Schenek who is a Realtor for Coldwell Banker in Green Valley. Donna specializes in properties around Arivaca, Amado, Green Valley, Sahuarita, Tubac and Vail. Tom and Donna have four adult children and are currently enjoying six grandchildren.
